Thank You – Strut Your Mutt Walk-a-thon
On May 21st, the 11th annual Dyer Lake Charitable Foundation Strut Your Mutt walk-a-thon was held to benefit The North Attleboro Animal Shelter and the Friends of the North Attleboro Animal Shelter. The event was held on the grounds of the North Attleboro High School and the late morning break in the weather drew in an enthusiastic crowd. The sounds of enjoyment filled the air from beginning to end. We were once again pleasantly surprised and very thankful for the extreme show of public support for our event. The gracious sponsorship from the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation allowed us to raise a whopping $10,500.00 during this event. Now, that’s something to bark about! All of the proceeds will go toward the building fund for an addition to our existing shelter.
Out of 106 registered walkers, our top money raisers were Davida D’Abate, John Fontneau, Kaitlin Hoffmann and a trio of young supporters including Emma Kirby, Jace Hurder and McKenzie Hurder. Two paws up for your efforts! We had a diverse blend of canines attending and a few felines sprinkled in who were hoping to find their forever homes. Our entertainment, DJ Jeff Hall, Boston Snow Dogs, New England Reptile & Raptor, SpongeBob Squarepants and Snoopy wowed the crowds with their individual talents.
It took the cooperation of many hands working together to make our event successful and we would like to graciously extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters listed as follows: Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, NAED, NAPD, DPW, NA High School, NA Track & Field, The NAHS Honor Society, The Sun Chronicle, The Free Press, Friends of the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, Just Click It Dog Training, DeWitt Veterinary Clinic, Kathy’s Pet Sitting, Chesapeake Club Rescue Network, Animal Protection Center of Southeastern MA, Paws of Plainville, Banfield Pet Hospital, Alpha Dog Center, Angel Cat Care, South Shore Ferret, PetWorks, Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Greyhound Pets of America, Good & Plenty Caterers, Yolanda’s Petsitting, Lucky Dogz and Catz Too, Metlife, Wetnose Spa, A Passion for Pets/New Beginnings, Doggie Dufflebag, Pet Portraits by Sandi, Blue Dog Shelter, Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Sheraton Boston, Hair Studio 149, Sawson Hair Salon, Soupworks, North End Deli, Achin’s Garage, Stop and Shop, Summit Petsitting, Briggs Nursery, The Grooming Post, YMCA, Attleboro Farm and Garden, Jason’s Auto, City Spirits, Nobel Hardware, The Tavern from Tower Square, LA Roberts, Longhorn Steakhouse, Tower Square Jewelers, Angel Loft Psychic, Yen Ching, Molly O’Shea’s, Blackinton Inn, Blade’z, Off the Leash Doggie Daycare, Indulgence Nail Salon, House of Fortune, My Nails and Hair, Wetherlaine’s Restaurant, Tatutina, Alpha Dog Center, Attleboro Old Barn, North Bowl, Airport Golf Fun Center, Shaws, Styles Unlimited, Nolan’s Flowers, The Black Opal Florist, Stylz Hair Salon, Walmart, Honey Dew, New England Old English Sheepdog, Fantasyland, All Tails R Waggin, The Flower Studio, Big Red Barbershop, Striking Beauties Boxing Gym for Women, The Preservation Framer, Barefoot Books by Allison Bennett, Dogs in Harmony, Pawsketters.com, 4 Paws Animal Shelter, Inc., Bishop Feehan Animal Rights Group, and Face Painting by Caitlin and Friends.
